Aashiq banaya... The distinctive high-pitched nasal twang of the singer enchanted the music world. Yes! It was the rising of a new star in Bollywood music- Himesh Reshammiya.
Himesh Reshammiya was born on 23rd July, 1973 as the son of veteran Gujarati music director Vipin Reshammiya. He did his schooling at Hill Grange School in Peddar Road where he met his best friend Prashant Chadha. Prashant is responsible for Himesh's new look and for directing all of Himesh's music videos from his private album

Aashiq Banaya Aapne, Aksar and
Tom, Dick & Harry.
Himesh Reshammiya started his career as a music director. Salman Khan gave him the first chance as a film music director for the movie
Bandhan(1998) along with the composer Anand Raj Anand. The aspiring Himesh got his first break in
Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya (1998). Reshammiya has developed his own unique style of composition, based on pop and techno beats, with a lot of English words thrown in.

Himesh Reshammiya got into limelight as a singer with the ever hit song
Aashiq Banaya Aapne... in the movie entitled with the same lyrics. He won the Filmfare Award for the Best male Playback Singer in 2005 for the same song. He also released a solo music album entitled
Aap Ka Suroor, which became extremely popular.
Reshammiya started to release music videos for songs for films that have not been screened. This trends has become extremely popular with

Aap Ka Suroor-The Real Love Story, a movie on his life. Reshammiya's fashion is quite distinct by his a cap and is usually seen wearing a pair of jeans with a conspicuous belt buckle along with his trademark stubble. His fans also imitate his beard and the one earring on his left ear.
Himesh Reshammiya's fame as the popular singer never saved him controversies. He replied to a criticism about his nasal voice In November 2006, by stating that Mukesh, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and R.D.Burman also used to sing nasally. This statement invoked the wrath of eminent singers like Asha Bhosle and he had to apologize many times for remarks.

Himesh Reshammiya is the first Indian to perform at the Wembley Stadium in London.
Himesh Reshammiya is inspired by the popular Indian singer Altaf Raja. To his honour Reshammiya is planning a "Himesh Reshammiya School Of Music", which will have ten divisions including Rock, Sufi-Rock, Indian classical vocal, instrumental, pop etc. Let us wait for more trend setting music from this innovative singer.
